I could tell you about my 25+ years working in the hospitality industry as a chef. I’ve worked at some restaurants you probably know, cooked for some people you definitely know, and experienced some truly wild things that maybe I’ll put in a book someday. But the DMV is already fully powered by egos and resumes, so I want to share something else instead.

A confession.

I am a guerilla gardener. You’re shocked, I know! Or maybe just confused. What’s a guerilla gardener, anyway? Well, as someone who loves growing everything from herbs and produce to indoor jungles, I found myself compelled to transform 1200 square feet of neglected public land into a flourishing garden. And I didn’t even ask for permission.

I find inspiration in risk and opportunity in unexpected places. That’s what motivates me–and it’s why I find myself at the rare intersection of being a private chef and a rental property host. In both endeavors, I bring my full personality to the forefront.

I love the city and modern conveniences while remaining a crunchy hippy at heart. I curse like a sailor (or, rather, like a chef) and was a female butcher long before it was en vogue. My fur monsters are named Bubba and Genae (pronounced “Jen-Aaaa” if you aren’t a Forrest Gump fan). I’m originally from Southern Virginia, have lived and cooked in Oakland, CA, and found myself in DC almost on a whim many years ago. As fate would have it, it’s exactly where I was meant to be.

Oh, and the most important thing? It’s about you.

I don’t like transactional relationships. But I do love human ones. So, I treat each one of my clients like they are part of my family. You deserve my very best.
